Andrew Gay, Jr. is a solo practitioner with offices located in the Art Museum area outside of Center City Philadelphia. Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania in 1999, Andrew Gay, Jr. began his legal career as a law clerk at the Complex Litigation Center, drafting appellate opinions in civil matters. Following this position, he defended the indigent for six years as an attorney at the Defender Association of Philadelphia. Andrew Gay, Jr. was assigned to the Major Trial Unit for several years, defending less advantaged individuals against serious felony offenses. During this time, Andrew Gay, Jr. obtained critical trial skills and an intimate knowledge of the Philadelphia criminal justice system.

In October 2003, Andrew Gay, Jr. opened his solo private practice firm, applying and expanding upon the knowledge and skills obtained from the experiences of his previous employment. The practice further expanded into personal injury matters and domestic relations, securing the resources needed to successfully represent injured people in a wide range of personal injury matters.

For more than ten years, Andrew Gay, Jr. continues a quest of putting “service” back into the practice of law, and maintaining that reputation with his clients, colleagues and the judiciary.

Andrew G. Gay, Sr., the founding partner of the law firm of Gay, Chacker & Mittin, P.C., is now Of Counsel to his son's firm, the Law Office of Andrew G. Gay, Jr., LLC. He brings with him the knowledge and experience gained in 44 years of legal practice, during which he tried thousands of jury and non-jury cases primarily in the areas of personal injury and criminal defense. Mr. Gay has been recognized as one of the leading criminal defense lawyers in Pennsylvania. His colleagues and opponents alike described his cross-examination skills as second to none. He is particularly suited to assist the firm in continuing to provide the highest level of service to its clients.

Mr. Gay is admitted to practice before the Courts of Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He received his law degree from Temple University in 1963 after graduating from Virginia Polytechnic Institute with an engineering degree. He served as a member of the Screening Committee for Court Appointments of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County, the Committee on Judicial Selection and Retention of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Criminal Justice Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bar Associations, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is also the recipient of numerous honors and awards.
